NADRA Releases a New Mobile Registration Unit Schedule for Pakistan

By sending mobile registration vans to remote parts of the nation, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is continuing its efforts to assist individuals.

From April 6 to April 11, these mobile units will travel to isolated areas.

The initiative’s goal is to give locals who live far from NADRA locations access to crucial registration services. Please visit the official NADRA website to find the precise schedule and venues for your area.

A significant government law that gives the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) more authority to control identification documents and bolster national security measures was earlier approved by the Senate Standing Committee on Interior.

Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar reportedly introduced the measure in the Senate at the Interior Ministry’s request. The proposed legislation will now be presented for final consideration in the next Senate session after being approved by the committee.

Any Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) may be blocked by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for a maximum of sixty days under the proposed modification.

Identity cards are extremely sensitive papers that are closely related to both economic stability and national security, according to Interior Ministry officials. They cautioned that any abuse might be extremely dangerous, therefore giving NADRA more regulatory authority is crucial.

The government further emphasised that NADRA has encountered practical difficulties in acting promptly due to the lack of explicit legal provisions. Instead of working with authorities, criminal elements frequently take advantage of legal gaps to postpone or evade prosecutions.

NADRA will be able to take more decisive action in cases involving fake or suspect identification records thanks to the proposed amendments. The action, according to authorities, will improve enforcement capabilities and aid in preventing abuse of national identification systems.

NADRA—Recent News
Previously, 1,000 more e-Sahulat franchises around Pakistan were given access to the National Database and Registration Authority’s (NADRA) chosen services.

A spokesperson claims that these services are currently available to citizens at about 3,000 e-Sahulat locations across the country. B-Forms for children under the age of ten, national identity card renewals, duplicate card acquisition in the event of a loss, and the cancellation of deceased family members’ identity cards are among the services offered.

Many districts, including Islamabad, major cities like Karachi, Lahore, Hyderabad, Peshawar, and Quetta, as well as numerous areas in Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, now have access to the increased services.

By bringing facilities closer to citizens, the effort, according to officials, aims to improve public access to crucial registration services and lessen the strain on NADRA offices.
