Naqvi visits FIA headquarters, instructs prompt execution of reforms and anti-corruption initiatives.

On Saturday, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) headquarters in Islamabad to assess the status of current infrastructure enhancement projects.

During the visit, the interior minister evaluated development projects and instructed that building efforts be expedited. He presided over a significant conference and mandated an extensive campaign against corruption across government organizations.

Naqvi stated that a zero-tolerance attitude towards corruption will be implemented in accordance with the prime minister’s vision, noting that the reform process inside the FIA would be finalized by December of this year.

He additionally mandated the online monitoring of all overseas employment advertisements and the promotion of public awareness of deceptive advertisements. He stated that the FIA will be established as a primary force against all manifestations of organized crime and guaranteed the agency comprehensive assistance at all levels.

The Director General of the FIA, Usman Anwar, informed the minister that extensive data on persons engaged in human smuggling and their accomplices had been assembled. He stated that a clear and efficient structure had been established to guarantee accountability within the institution.

The DG stated that working groups and coordination committees were being established with other agencies, while advanced technology was being employed to provide effective measures against immigration-related offenses, human trafficking, and money laundering.

The interior minister conducted significant discussions in Rome with his Italian and Spanish counterparts, as well as the migration minister of Greece, during a four-nation conference focused on addressing illegal immigration.

The interior ministries of the four nations convened in Rome to deliberate on coordinated tactics to mitigate unlawful migration. Italy, Spain, and Greece commended Pakistan for its efficacious actions, highlighting a 47% decrease in illegal migration to their nations.

The three European nations also supported Pakistan’s initiative to obstruct unlawful migration via legal avenues, recognizing that organized legal channels can substantially diminish irregular immigration.
