NDMA issues a warning for severe rain in the upcoming days.
All departments in question have received an alert from the NDMA advising them to exercise caution and stay vigilant. In Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, and Sialkot, there is a considerable risk of urban flooding, indicates the advice.
Flooding is also a possibility for low-lying districts in Peshawar, Faisalabad, Nowshera, and Sargodha.
Urban flooding may destroy infrastructure and cause major disruptions to daily life, the NDMA has warned. Residing in close proximity to drainage canals puts communities at high risk of experiencing severe consequences during flash floods.
In response to the concerns of urban floods, the NDMA released the “Pak NDMA Disaster Alert” app, which is currently accessible on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store. To protect their safety, people are asked to use this app to be updated on weather alerts and updates.
