NDMA issues cold wave warning for northern regions and Balochistan.

The National Emergencies Operations Center (NEOC) of the NDMA has issued a warning over an intense cold wave affecting northern regions and northern Balochistan, with extreme circumstances anticipated to last in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Potohar region, and northern Balochistan.

The advice indicates that severe winter conditions are expected to persist in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Potohar region, and northern Balochistan in the forthcoming days.

A significant increase in cold intensity is anticipated for northern Balochistan, especially in Quetta, Ziarat, and Kalat.

NEOC has warned that the inclement weather may increase the likelihood of respiratory illnesses, advising citizens to implement preventative measures.

The NDMA has warned that extreme cold may harm standing crops, urging farmers to use preventative measures.

The advice cautioned that current weather conditions, along with potential dense fog, may provide hazards to commuters in flat regions, recommending vigilance during morning travel.

The Authority stated it is providing prompt early warnings and disseminating information regarding potential threats to pertinent institutions and the public.
