On Christmas, the President and PM welcome the Christian community.

On the festive occasion of Christmas, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari have sent their best wishes and warmest congratulations to Pakistan’s Christian population as well as to Christian communities worldwide.

The president stated in his speech that Christmas is a season of kindness, hope, and peace. “This season’s message of love and service to humanity serves as a reminder of the strong ties that bind all people together.”

Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the country’s father, outlined a vision of Pakistan based on equality and freedom for all. He declared, “You are free; you are free to go to your temples, you are free to go to your mosques or any other place of worship in this State of Pakistan,” during his historic speech to the first Constituent Assembly on August 11, 1947. You are free to practice any religion, caste, or faith as long as it has no bearing on state affairs. The president continued, “These words continue to be a potent affirmation of our commitment to religious freedom and mutual respect among all citizens.”

In the areas of politics, national defense, education, literature, the arts, music, health care, social welfare, and public service, he said, Pakistani Christians have made significant contributions to our country. Their contributions enhance our national life and fortify our progress as a nation.

In his message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wished the Christian community in Pakistan and around the world a very happy Christmas.
Christmas sends a universal message of love, peace, tolerance, and goodwill for all people, according to the prime minister.
He prayed that the nation and the Christian community might experience peace, stability, and prosperity on the anniversary of Hazrat Isa’s (AS) birth.

He emphasized the Christian community’s contribution to social harmony and the advancement of the country, saying that they were an active, constructive, and peaceful group in Pakistan who had provided excellent services in the fields of healthcare, education, and other fields.

The prime minister also praised the Christian community’s sacrifices in the war against terrorism, stating that Pakistan was proud of their work with the rest of the country.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment, saying that one of its major priority continues to be ensuring that all citizens have equal rights, freedoms, economic well-being, and equal opportunities free from discrimination.

The prime minister ended by sending the Christian community heartfelt Christmas greetings and urging people of all religions to cooperate for a powerful, safe, and prosperous Pakistan.
