On the 29th, Biman Bangladesh Airlines will begin operating direct flights from Dhaka to Karachi.

For the Dhaka-Karachi route, the airline has already launched reservations, and demand seems to be high. According to sources, the first flights’ seats were completely reserved within hours of bookings opening, indicating long-standing demand for a direct air link that hasn’t been for years.

The return of direct flights, according to aviation officials, has excited travelers in both nations, especially business communities, families, and expatriates who had previously relied on indirect routes via third countries. Passengers’ travel time and expenses should be greatly reduced with direct connectivity.

Following orders from the government, the Pakistani Civil Aviation Authority approved Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ direct flights to Karachi a few days ago. The airline was able to finalize timetables and start commercial operations on the route after receiving clearance.

The resumption of passenger flights coincides with increased collaboration within the aviation industry, according to industry observers. Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Pakistan International Airlines signed a cargo-focused deal last month, indicating a wider partnership that goes beyond passenger services. One significant step in improving trade logistics between the two nations is the cargo arrangement.
