Over 31,000 people have been deported as Punjab continues its campaign against unlawful foreign residents.

Law enforcement agencies in Punjab are continuing to expel foreign people who are living there illegally while maintaining increased operational and security precautions.

31,377 foreign nationals, including citizens of Afghanistan, have been deported from Lahore and other parts of the province thus far, according to the Inspector General of Punjab Police. Furthermore, 203 people who are residing illegally are presently in designated holding locations awaiting additional processing.

According to official statistics, 13,133 children, 6,679 women, and 11,576 men were deported. These included 10,267 foreigners who were discovered to be living unlawfully without proper identification, 11,067 Afghan Citizen Card holders, and 10,043 people with residential proof.

According to the IG Punjab, 46 holding centers are in operation around the province to enable the procedure in an orderly and legal manner, while five holding centers have been built in Lahore. To guarantee seamless operations and avoid any undesirable situations, security has been put on high alert at all locations.

Authorities stressed that all people are being treated humanely throughout the deportation drive, which is being conducted rigorously in accordance with international rules and procedures. The Punjab Police reiterated their commitment to upholding public order and protecting human rights while completing the repatriation of all foreign nationals living illegally.
