Over the last five days, Karachi has registered 859 alarming dog bite cases.

There have been 859 dog bite cases reported in Karachi in the last five days, which is a result of the city’s growing stray dog population.
Details show that over 300 dog bite incidences were reported at the Civil Hospital and Jinnah Hospital, while at least 300 cases were reported within five days at a private hospital in Korangi.
The majority of instances were recorded from Korangi, Hub Chowki, Baldia, Landhi, and Gadap, according to Dr. Aftab Gohar, who is in charge of the Dog Bite Clinic. A 41-year-old guy who was bitten by a stray dog at a private hospital had to have his finger removed because the infection spread.
Dr. Aftab Gohar cautioned that rabies is nearly invariably lethal once symptoms manifest. In the event of a dog bite, he recommended the population to get vaccinated and seek medical attention right away.
