Oxford has received a petition opposing the PTI founder’s nomination for chancellor.

Specifically, the petition raised concerns about Khan’s personal and public background and was addressed to the university leadership.

Khan was accused in the petition of having a past of backing radical organizations including the Taliban and Osama bin Laden, the leader of Al Qaeda at the time. Khan’s previous description of bin Laden as a “martyr” was also mentioned.

The petition also attacked Khan’s stance on women’s rights, claiming that he has put the blame for rape cases on the clothes worn by women.

It was asserted in the petition that the creator of PTI’s morals and behavior go against Oxford University’s rules and principles.

Notably, Imran Khan, the former prime minister who is currently incarcerated, has chosen to run for the position of University of Oxford Chancellor.

During his years as captain of the university cricket team, Imran Khan studied philosophy, politics, and economics (PPE) at Keble College, the renowned institution.

He said, “During my formative years, Oxford University was a huge help.” I would fervently support Oxford as chancellor, promoting its ideals of inclusivity, equality, and diversity both domestically and internationally.

Despite the fact that the chances are stacked against him, he declared, “I am committed to giving back to the world the resilience, determination, and integrity that life has taught me.”
