Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan decide to improve regional connectivity and digital cooperation.

Pakistan’s stance on regional digital cooperation, connectivity, and investment prospects was presented by Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications Shaza Fatima Khawaja during the 24th CAREC Ministerial Conference.
She met the Minister for Digital Development of Kyrgyzstan on the fringes of the conference. The two nations decided to improve regional connectivity and digital cooperation.
Pakistan provided bandwidth support via undersea cables in Karachi and Gwadar.
The suggestion to create a collaborative technical connectivity group and common fiber connection routes under the CAREC framework were also discussed.
Both parties decided to start collaborative software, cloud computing, and cybersecurity training initiatives. There were also plans for exchange programs, cooperative hackathons, and the Pak-Kyrgyz Startup Bridge.
The minister also discussed digital trade and strategic regional connectivity, such as the fiber link between Pakistan and Uzbekistan under the CAREC Digital Corridor, with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade.
Affordable bandwidth, the creation of data centers, and the growth of regional digital trade flows were all agreed upon.
The promotion of outsourcing models in English and Russian, joint venture models in software, fintech, and e-commerce, start-up cooperation between NICs and Uzbek IT parks, and increased cooperation in cybersecurity, digital policy, and a shared regulatory framework were also discussed
