Pakistan and the UAE are getting closer to CEPA as technical negotiations draw to a close.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral economic connections and accelerating progress on the Pakistan-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) when UAE Ambassador Salem Mohammed Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi visited Jam Kamal at his Islamabad office, according to a statement.
Jam Kamal emphasized the people-to-people, strategic, and historical ties between Pakistan and the UAE, characterizing the relationship as robust and tried-and-true in the social, political, and defense domains.
However, he emphasized that both nations are eager to turn this intimacy into a stronger, more equitable trade and investment cooperation that represents the full potential of bilateral ties.
The minister emphasized Pakistan’s continuous economic reforms and reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering an atmosphere that is more conducive to investment and enterprise.
He pointed out that the government is still focused on medium-term growth, export expansion, and regional connectivity, especially through collaborations with Gulf nations, even though the private sector is facing short-term difficulties as a result of stabilization measures.
The professionalism of the technical teams involved in the CEPA negotiations and Pakistan’s reform initiatives were both acknowledged by Ambassador Al Zaabi.
