Pakistan announces 15-member squad for T20I series against Sri Lanka

Pakistan has announced a 15-member squad for the forthcoming T20 International series against Sri Lanka, set to occur in January 2026.
Salman Ali Agha will lead the Pakistan cricket team during the visit. Wicketkeeper-batter Khawaja Mohammad Nafay has received his first selection for the national T20 team, while all-rounder Shadab Khan has made a comeback after undergoing shoulder surgery.
The team comprises Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Nawaz, Salman Mirza, Mohammad Wasim Jr, and Naseem Shah. Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Usman Khan, and Usman Tariq finalize the selection.
The Pakistan team is set to depart for Sri Lanka in stages on January 4 and 5.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka will compete in a three-match T20 International series, with all matches scheduled to take place in Dambulla on January 7, 9, and 11.

The deadline for submitting provisional squads for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, is January 7. Teams may modify their rosters without authorization until that date.
Any modifications made within one week before to the commencement of the competition will necessitate agreement from the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The T20 World Cup is set to occur from February 7 to March 8, with Pakistan assigned to Group A, which includes its arch-rival India, the USA, the Netherlands, and Namibia.
