Pakistan denies claims that it has denied entrance to the Hindu community on the basis of religion.

The baseless and false claims that members of the Hindu community were refused admission into Pakistan’s territory have been flatly denied.

These allegations, according to Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Husaain Andrabi, are completely unfounded and constitute yet another effort to twist the truth and politicize a purely administrative issue.

According to him, more than 2,400 Sikh pilgrims from India have been granted visas by the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi to take part in the festivities commemorating Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birth anniversary from the 4th to the 13th of this month.

It is important to remember that the Indian authorities stopped about 300 visa holders from crossing over. On the Pakistani side, the entire immigration procedure was easy, well-organized, and obstacle-free.

A very tiny percentage of people were discovered to have insufficient documents and to be unable to give immigration authorities satisfactory answers, according to Tahir Husaain Andrabi.

As a result, they were asked to follow conventional protocols and return to the Indian side. It is utterly false and nasty to imply that these people were turned away due to their faith.

He claimed that under a well-established and accommodating framework, Pakistan has long welcomed pilgrims of all religions to visit its hallowed religious places. Purely administrative in nature, the measure was in line with Pakistan’s sovereign right to control access to its territory.

Any attempt to give this matter a communal or political hue, according to the spokesperson, is not only unfortunate but also indicative of the biased perspective that permeates Indian media and official narratives more and more.
