Pakistan Is Selected To Serve On The IAEA Board Of Governors At The General Conference Held In Vienna
Pakistan has been chosen to serve on the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency for the two-year period beginning in 2024–2026.
Pakistan was chosen by consensus to represent the Middle East and South Asia Region at the 68th Session of the IAEA General Conference in Vienna, Austria, for the term that starts this month. As a member of the IAEA’s Board of Governors, Pakistan has served 21 terms.
Pakistan’s election is an acknowledgement of its long-standing dedication to the IAEA’s goals and objectives in supporting nuclear energy used peacefully as well as its valuable input into the development of the IAEA’s policies and initiatives.
As one of the IAEA’s founding members, Pakistan has benefited from a long-standing, mutually beneficial partnership with the organization on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
