Pakistan reiterates its commitment to implement effective actions against cross-border terrorism.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has reiterated that Pakistan will persist in implementing decisive actions to eradicate cross-border terrorism for the safeguarding of its citizens.

The military minister stated that the unrepresentative Afghan Taliban leadership is experiencing internal discord.

The defence minister has articulated a robust response on X to the deceptive and malevolent remarks made by the Afghan Taliban spokesperson, asserting that the Pakistani nation, along with its political and military leadership, is in total accord, and there exists a national consensus on Pakistan’s security policies and strategies concerning Afghanistan.

He stated that the populace of Pakistan, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is acutely cognisant of the persistent terrorism perpetrated by Indian proxies with the support of the Afghan Taliban.

There is no uncertainty. Khawaja Asif stated that the Taliban persistently oppress women, children, and minorities, while denying the public rights to expression, education, and representation.

“Despite the elapse of four years, the Afghan Taliban have failed to honour the commitments made to the international community.

“They are simply employing rhetoric, constructing narratives, and adhering to the agendas of external entities to obscure their internal discord and governance shortcomings.” The Afghan Taliban function as a proxy for external entities, notably India.
