Pakistan reiterates its “trusted partnership” with Beijing and brushes off rumors about its ties to China.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office has reiterated that Beijing and Islamabad are still close friends and reliable allies, advising onlookers to refrain from conjecturing about potential diplomatic contacts between the two nations.
The statement emphasized that constant communication on issues of shared interest and priorities is maintained between the two governments. Senior diplomats recently discussed a variety of bilateral and regional topics, including events in Afghanistan, according to officials.
A representative for the Foreign Office stated in a statement released from Islamabad that China and Pakistan are in constant communication on all issues of shared interest. The spokesperson emphasized that any needless conjecture or attempts to misrepresent the facts surrounding these exchanges were baseless and unjustified.
The explanation comes after a recent phone call between Wang Yi, the foreign minister of China, and Ishaq Dar, the deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Pakistan. The spokesperson claimed that the two leaders had in-depth conversations about a variety of topics of mutual interest.
According to officials, the discussion also covered broader regional dynamics and events in Afghanistan. The spokeswoman stated that it had previously been verified that the situation in Afghanistan was one of the topics covered during the Foreign Office’s weekly press briefing last Thursday.
The statement also emphasized ongoing diplomatic discussions with Yue Xiaoyong, China’s Special Representative for Afghanistan. Afghanistan and more general issues pertaining to regional peace and stability were discussed during his most recent visit to Pakistan.
The Foreign Office claims that discussions about the changing circumstances in Afghanistan and possible ways to work together to preserve regional stability were part of the engagement. Since the change in Kabul’s political landscape, Pakistan and China have kept up regular discussions regarding Afghanistan, which reflects their common worries about security, economic recovery, and humanitarian issues.
The spokesperson also responded to rumors that China would mediate a settlement between Pakistan and Afghanistan, advising observers to refrain from making snap judgments on diplomatic exchanges.
The official stated, “Pakistan and China are trusted partners and close friends,” adding that attempts to fabricate rumors about diplomatic ties or misrepresent them were unfounded.
Officials emphasized that regular diplomatic interactions between Beijing and Islamabad, two neighboring nations with long-standing strategic ties, include talks. They claimed that these exchanges show collaboration on matters of shared interest, such as regional security, economic cooperation, and developments impacting neighboring Afghanistan.
Through high-level visits, phone calls, and institutional channels that enable collaboration on political, economic, and security issues, Pakistan and China maintain regular diplomatic exchanges. According to officials, recent interactions continue to demonstrate the strength of the bilateral relationship and the significance both nations place on working together to maintain regional stability.
