Pakistan-Russian Relations: Mutual Benefits for Commerce, Economy, and Regional Integration
In addition to improving regional connectivity, Pakistan and Russia have reaffirmed their commitment to bolstering trade and commercial relationships.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk met at Aiwan-e-Sadr. Overchuk and his delegation visited the President, and both men emphasized the value of developing mutually beneficial cooperation in important areas like business, education, science and technology, agriculture, food security, and railways, as well as strengthening people-to-people ties.
As he welcomed the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, the President emphasized that in order to improve connectivity and fortify economic links between the two countries, it is critical to investigate opportunities for barter trade.
In order to promote and facilitate business-to-business and people-to-people relations, he advocated for loosening visa requirements and boosting connectivity via direct flights and railroads.
There was a lot of room for growth in bilateral cooperation in the agriculture sector, as was brought up during the discussion.
It was emphasized that there was a great deal of potential to engage in cooperative initiatives in the agricultural sector that would benefit both nations.
It was also stated that a business delegation consisting of 75 members from Pakistan would travel to Russia in October to investigate potential business and economic collaboration opportunities.
Russia is eager to expand its collaboration with Pakistan in the areas of food security, science and technology, education, connectivity, and railroads, according to Alexei Overchuk.
