Pakistan saw the first sighting of the Ramazan moon on February 19.

The first fast will be observed nationally on Thursday, and the Ramazan moon for 1447 Hijri has been sighted in several Pakistani cities.
The moon sighting was confirmed by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, the chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, who also confirmed that the first Taraweeh prayers will be said tonight and the first fast will be observed tomorrow.
Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad presided over the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting in Peshawar to observe the Ramadan moon.
While zonal committee meetings were held in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Quetta, the central meeting was held at the Auqaf Hall on Charsadda Road.
After the conference, Azad told the media that the country’s weather varied, with some regions experiencing gloomy skies and others having clear ones.
According to him, reports of moon sightings came from a variety of places, including Quetta, Islamabad, Waziristan, Dir, Karachi, Buner, Mardan, and Tando Allahyar.
“The committee unanimously determined that Thursday will be the first day of Ramadan after examining the evidence,” he stated.

The core meeting was attended by committee members as well as officials from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), and the Meteorological Department.
Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai presided over a separate meeting of the unauthorized Ruet-e-Hilal Committee that was also convened in Masjid Qasim Ali Khan.
In Bangladesh and India, where the first fast is scheduled for tomorrow, the Ramazan moon has also been spotted.
The first fast was previously observed today in Afghanistan, the Gulf countries, and Saudi Arabia. Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan will observe their first fast on Thursday, while Iraq, Oman, Turkey, Indonesia, and Malaysia will start their fast tomorrow.
