Pakistan commenced the T20 Tri-Nation Series with a victory over Zimbabwe, triumphing by five wickets in Rawalpindi while successfully pursuing a target of 151 with four balls remaining.
Usman Khan and Mohammad Nawaz maintained their composure in the final moments following Fakhar Zaman’s pivotal innings during the middle overs. The triumph provided Pakistan with a preliminary advantage in the competition featuring Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
A roster alteration occurred prior to the match as Abdul Samad was excluded due to injury, with Hassan Nawaz added into the Pakistan team. However, Sri Lanka encounters initial difficulties since skipper Charith Asalanka and Fernando have returned home owing to health concerns. Dasun Shanaka has assumed leadership of Sri Lanka for the remainder of the campaign.
