Pakistani individuals applying for a visa to the United States receive a significant update.
An embassy representative informed the media that the processing period for visa appointments has been shortened from 440 days to 230 days.
The purpose of this new program is to expedite the Pakistani applicant’s visa application process. The embassy has taken a number of steps to shorten the time it takes to process visas, which is advantageous for those applying for business, family reunion, student, and other types of visas. The aim is to minimize the waiting time as much as feasible.
“We are working diligently to handle the increased demand and facilitate as many applicants as possible,” the embassy official stated.
Approximately 10,000 applications were received and processed monthly by the embassies in Islamabad and Karachi in the past.
The representative stressed that in order to further cut down on wait times, the embassy is always growing and streamlining its operations.
The embassy offers an email system for case reviews for candidates who have already filed their visa applications. He said that after the interview, judgments are usually made in three to four working days after each application is reviewed separately.
The official stressed that the embassy merely collects the regular application price, which is applicable worldwide, in regards to visa fees.
The official also noted that the embassy received the greatest number of applications in its history last year, indicating a rising need for US visas in Pakistan.
