Pakistan’s skies are illuminated by the first supermoon of 2026.

According to a SPARCO official, Pakistan has seen the first supermoon of 2026.

This occurrence, which comes after the final super moon in October 2025, is traditionally referred to as the Wolf Moon.

This year, the Quadrantid meteor shower peaks at the same time as the supermoon. At 5:51 p.m., the moon will rise in Pakistan, attaining 99.8% illumination. On January 3 and 4, the phenomenon will also be apparent.

According to Suparco, there are roughly 362,000 kilometers separating the Earth and the Moon. The Moon will therefore appear roughly 10% brighter and 6–7% larger than a typical full moon.

It is anticipated that the next super moon will be sighted in November 2026.
