Pakistan’s worst mistake was to host Afghan refugees for decades: Khawaja Asif

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif stated on Tuesday that Pakistan’s biggest error in its 78-year history has been to shelter Afghan refugees for decades.
In response to the Afghan Taliban’s allegation that Pakistan targeted a drug rehabilitation facility in Kabul, Khawaja Asif wrote on the social media site X that while Pakistan has made many mistakes over the course of its 78-year history, hosting Afghans for decades was the biggest one. May Allah pardon us for this.
According to Khawaja Asif, individuals who plan assaults on mosques are the ones who claim to be targeting a hospital. He claimed that they killed worshippers, attacked markets, schools, and unarmed civilians, and spilled the blood of defenseless children.
According to the Defense Minister, the Afghan Taliban’s revenue comes from narcotics trafficking. “These ungrateful people are attacking the very state that has given them refuge for fifty years,” he remarked. He claimed that instead of keeping their word, they seek billions of dollars in ransom.
According to Khawaja Asif, Pakistan not only provided them with refuge but also stood up to a superpower on their behalf. It hosted their three generations, which was Pakistan’s biggest error.
