Phase-II of CPEC is centered on connectivity, industrial development, and innovation: minister

The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Phase-II would prioritize innovation, industrial growth, and people-to-people connectivity, according to Federal Minister for Planning, growth, and Special Initiatives Prof. Ahsan Iqbal on Tuesday.

According to him, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Phase-II would include growth corridors, innovation corridors, livelihood corridors, and regional development initiatives.

In the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives auditorium, the Minister made this statement during the yearly award ceremony for exceptional Chinese and Pakistani employees working on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

Speaking at the event, the minister praised Chinese and Pakistani professionals, especially engineers, calling them the real CPEC project architects who put forth endless effort to make these initiatives a reality.

According to the minister, the yearly award ceremony for exceptional Chinese and Pakistani employees working on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects is more than just a way to give away prizes; it’s a way to honor their commitment and spirit of service.

Additionally, he emphasized the significance of modern meteorological systems and solar energy systems for Pakistan’s future.

He emphasized the importance of developing human resources and advised Pakistani students studying in China to return home and support national development projects.

The minister added that talks had taken place on the China-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor, which aims to guarantee the younger generation has access to high-quality higher education.

He reaffirmed the importance Pakistan placed on its strategic cooperation partnership with China.

The minister remembered that up to eighteen hours of load shedding were experienced by Pakistan at the start of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He added that China made investments in Pakistan’s energy industry and assisted in resolving the issue.

He pointed out that CPEC has been crucial to Pakistan’s economic growth during the last ten years.

He said, “Friends are those who stand by you in times of need,” adding that Pakistan might still be experiencing serious power shortages in the absence of CPEC.

According to the minister, the agreements made at the event will boost ongoing development initiatives and deepen the relationship between China and Pakistan.He emphasized that the CPEC had greatly increased Gwadar’s geopolitical significance.

The 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Pakistan was celebrated this year, according to Jiang Zaidong, the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan.

He pointed out that agreements on CPEC projects and more extensive bilateral cooperation were the outcome of recent high-level visits.

He said that Ishaq Dar, the deputy prime minister, is now in China and will meet with Wang Yi, the Chinese foreign minister, to talk about significant bilateral and regional issues.

The envoy reiterated China’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of both countries and expressed gratitude for the actions taken by Pakistani leadership in the current circumstance.
