PM Shehbaz and President Zardari reiterate their commitment to combating terrorism

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari praised security troops on Saturday for their effective counterterrorism efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

They reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to combating terrorism in their individual remarks.

According to President Zardari, it is admirable how security forces and law enforcement organizations defend people’s lives and property.

According to the premier, the police and military are fighting anti-state elements day and night. “With our courageous and determined officers and soldiers present, the enemy cannot dare to cast an evil eye on Pakistan,” he remarked.

According to him, the security forces and the entire country are united in their steadfast commitment to safeguarding the country.

Eleven Indian-sponsored militants were killed by security troops in two different clashes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), operations against “Fitna Al Khwari” terrorists took place on January 8, 2026.

It said that the security forces in the North Waziristan district carried out an intelligence-based operation. Six of the terrorists were killed following a fierce gunfight when the operation’s own troops successfully engaged the terrorists’ area.

In Kurram district, police and security personnel carried out another cooperative intelligence-based operation. Five extremists were successfully neutralized in the ensuing gunfight.

Additionally, weapons and ammunition were found in the bodies of Indian-sponsored terrorists who continued to carry out a variety of terrorist attacks against law enforcement, security personnel, and innocent people.
