PM Shehbaz travels to Davos for the annual meeting of the WEF.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif landed in Davos, Switzerland, to attend the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) annual conference, which will take place from January 20–22, 2026.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Switzerland Marghoob Saleem, Pakistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations Muhammad Bilal, and Pakistan’s diplomatic personnel in Switzerland greeted the prime minister.
According to a press release from the PM House, the prime minister is accompanied by a high-level delegation that includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Cheema, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant to PM Tariq Fatemi, and other senior officials.
In addition to holding bilateral talks with other heads of state and government and international organizations, the prime minister will participate in significant diplomatic and economic events during his official visit.
Prominent executives from international corporations who have expressed interest in increasing their current interests or investigating investment potential in Pakistan will attend a business roundtable co-hosted by Pakistan and the World Economic Forum during the visit.
The prime minister stated on his official “X” account, “Arrived in Davos, Switzerland, to advance Pakistan’s engagement at the World Economic Forum with global trade and investment partners.”
He claimed that Pakistan’s continuous economic reform process was opening up enormous possibilities, fueled by a strong and enterprising labor force and substantial potential in the fields of energy, agriculture, minerals, and emerging technology.
“We are prepared to utilize this potential for our mutual benefit.”
