PMD forecasts heavy fog in the country’s plains, rain, and snowfall in the upper areas.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the majority of the country will see chilly and dry conditions over the next 24 hours, but isolated areas in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir are forecast to see cloudy weather with the possibility of rain and light snowfall.

The Met Office predicts that there will be moderate to dense fog across Punjab, upper Sindh, and plain portions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially in the morning and at night, which could cause problems for air and road travel.

The weather in Islamabad and the surrounding areas is predicted to be cold and partly cloudy, with the possibility of fog patches in the morning.

Most districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to see cold, dry weather. However, Chitral, Swat, Dir, Battagram, Abbottabad, Kohistan, Mansehra, and surrounding areas are predicted to see gloomy conditions with rain and mild snowfall. Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Bannu, Karak, Lakki Marwat, and Dera Ismail Khan are likely to see moderate to intense fog, particularly in the morning and at night.

While the Potohar region may see partially cloudy conditions, Punjab is predicted to stay mostly dry and cool. The weather in Murree, Galiyat, and the neighboring areas is expected to be quite cold and gloomy, with the possibility of light rain and snowfall in the morning. Sialkot, Narowal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Kasur, Pakpattan, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Mianwali, Layyah, Bhakkar, Noorpur Thal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Shorkot, Multan, Kot Addu, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan are among the areas where dense fog is predicted to linger.

The majority of Sindh’s districts are expected to see cold, dry weather. Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Larkana, Tando Jam, Mohenjodaro, and coastal locations, including Karachi, are predicted to see moderate to intense fog in the morning.

While northern regions may continue to be extremely chilly and partially cloudy, Balochistan is also predicted to have mostly dry and frigid weather. In the morning, fog may form in Dera Bugti, Kohlu, Dera Murad Jamali, Jaffarabad, Naseerabad, Jhal Magsi, Sibi, and the Makran coastal districts.

Extremely cold and partly cloudy weather is predicted for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, with the possibility of rain and light snowfall in certain areas.
