Police have a deadline from LHC to recover the missing girl from Sahiwal.

While considering a petition to recover a girl who went missing from Sahiwal, the Lahore High Court (LHC) gave police until February 9 to do so.

Justice Aalia Neelum, the chief justice of the Lahore High Court, heard Nadir Ali’s petition. Ayaz Saleem, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sahiwal, appeared before the court on judicial orders during the hearing. He explained that he had just been posted and requested time to review the case file.

While acknowledging that time would be given, the Chief Justice questioned the actions of the investigating officers. She ordered all investigating officers to handle child-related cases with tact, stressing that police carelessness in these situations would not be accepted, regardless of whether the child is a boy or a girl.

The court also noted that police had reported that the girl’s CCTV footage was missing from the USB. Nevertheless, the USB never made it to court in the first place, according to an investigation done by the sessions judge. The court pointed out that the investigation would reveal how the girl got out of her house.

The court postponed the proceedings until February 9 to give the police time to retrieve the girl.

It is important to remember that a petition for the recovery of a girl who was allegedly kidnapped from Sahiwal was filed in the Lahore High Court.
