“The president promises businessmen that electricity problems will be resolved.”
The delegation of businessmen apprised the president of the public’s apprehensions regarding the Independent Power Producers (IPPs) issue, according to a statement released by President Sheikhupura Chamber Manzoor ul Haq Malik.
The President has sided with the people on this matter, according to Manzoor Malik. “A committee that will address the IPP issue is being established per the president’s directives,” he declared.
The council would be comprised of reputable businesses from all throughout the nation, according to Malik. “The body will be co-chaired by former caretaker ministers Gohar Ejaz and S.M. Tanvir,” he added.
“What we’re asking for is information regarding the tariff’s forensic audit and capacity charges,” he declared.
Rather than representing the public interest, the minister, according to Manzoor Malik, has taken on the role of IPP spokesman.
“President Asif Ali Zardari is concerned about the electricity bills and is seeking a prompt resolution to the matter,” he stated.
He stated that the names of the committee members will be sent to the president this week.
