President Zardari declares that prisoners will be released.
The president, in accordance with Article 45 of the Constitution, pardoned the sentence on the country’s 77th Independence Day, as stated in a news release from the President House.
The remission will not be granted to convicts engaged in murder, espionage, anti-state activities, rape, theft, robbery, kidnapping, and terrorism.
Individuals engaged in financial misconduct that results in financial damage to the government and have been found guilty under the Foreigners Act of 1946 and the Narcotics Control (Amendment) Act of 2022 will not be eligible for any reduction in their punishment.
The remission will be granted to female inmates who are serving their sentence alongside their children, as well as to those who are under the age of 18.
With Independence Day drawing near, numerous stalls showcasing national flags, bunting, flag-colored attire, and other items have been established in markets and streets to entice shoppers nationwide.
Simultaneously, a nationwide initiative called the “Plant for Pakistan Campaign” is currently in progress to encourage tree planting as a means to mitigate pollution.
