Prime Minister Shehbaz inaugurates a cancer hospital in Muzaffarabad.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif opened a cutting-edge cancer hospital and a medical college in Muzaffarabad to enhance healthcare services for the residents of Azad Kashmir.

The recently opened initiatives comprise the Kashmir Institute of Nuclear Medicine, Oncology and Radiology (KINOR) and the Mirwaiz Maulvi Muhammad Farooq Medical College.

During the opening ceremony in Muzaffarabad, the prime minister emphasized that KINOR will offer superior healthcare services for cancer treatment in Azad Kashmir.

He observed that inhabitants of remote regions will no longer be required to journey to Islamabad or other urban centers for the treatment of this life-threatening illness.

The IAEA lauds Pakistan’s initiatives in cancer care.

The prime minister praised the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, philanthropists, and other contributors for their support of cancer treatment projects.

During his visit, he examined multiple departments of KINOR and had a comprehensive briefing.

He commended the implementation of contemporary technology, including MRI and mammography machines, underscoring the necessity of maintaining the latest iterations of these technologies to offer continuous support to patients.

KINOR is the inaugural contemporary establishment in Azad Kashmir focused on cancer detection and therapy.
