PTA Issues Warning: Exercise caution against fraudsters impersonating FIA, financial institutions, and telecommunications authority.

The PTA has released an awareness film for customers, in which the authority indicated that scammers are impersonating the PTA, FIA, and banks.

The nation’s telecommunications regulator, in its advisory to the public, stated that no government body will ever request your OTP, PIN, identity card number, or biometric data.

The PTA warned consumers to remain vigilant and obtain verification solely through government sources.

The authorities previously asked consumers to responsibly utilize their SIM cards, emphasizing the need of using only those registered in their name, as using SIMs provided under another individual’s identification constitutes a violation of regulations.

The PTA has emphasized that improper usage of SIMs will be attributed to the registered consumer, urging consumers to ensure responsible utilization of their SIMs and mobile connections.

According to the PTA statement, registered consumers would be held accountable for their dialed calls, texts, and data usage.
