PTI establishes political committee; notification released.

On Friday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) established a political committee, with the announcement issued by PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja.

The announcement states that the political committee comprises 23 members. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Secretary General Salman Akram Raja have been appointed to the committee.

The group includes PTI’s assistant secretary general Firdous Shamim Naqvi, secretary of information Sheikh Waqas Akram, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.

Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, and Mehmood Khan Achakzai, the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, have also been incorporated onto the committee.

Omar Ayub, the former head of the opposition in the National Assembly, and Shibli Faraz, the former leader of the opposition in the Senate, have also been identified. Moin Riaz Qureshi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, is also a member of the committee.

Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar, the former head of the opposition in the Punjab Assembly, Sajjad Burki, secretary of the abroad international chapter, and provincial organizers Aliya Hamza, Junaid Akbar, Haleem Adil, and Dawood Kakar are also included on the committee.

The committee includes representatives from Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan: Khalid Khurshid and Sardar Qayyum Niazi, as well as Asad Qaiser and National Assembly Chief Whip Aamir Dogar.

Fauzia Arshad, Kanwal Shauzab, president of the women’s wing, and Lal Chand Malhi, head of the minorities wing, will also be members of the committee.

The committee will take effect immediately on 12 December and will establish the policy direction for legislative factions and assemblies. Additional appointments and modifications will be implemented as necessary, and sub-committees consisting of seasoned members will be established.
