PTI protests for Imran Khan’s release at Swabi Interchange

Workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) organised protest demonstrations Tuesday close to the Swabi junction, which resulted in a serious traffic gridlock.
Long lines of cars resulted from the PTI workers’ total blockade of traffic on both sides of the road.
The area surrounding the M-1 Motorway at the Swabi interchange (417KM) is still closed, according to motorway police.
PTI employees from Charsadda and Nowshera joined the protest as well, gathering near the Swabi interchange.
Ahmed Khan Niazi, the leader of the PTI, is anticipated to come soon to speak to the assembly.
Travellers have experienced significant challenges due to the disruption of regular traffic flow induced by the road shutdown.
Administrators in Rawalpindi and Islamabad apply Section 144 due to security concerns.
As part of a campaign calling for Imran Khan’s release, the PTI has planned larger protests, including a coordinated blockade of the Swabi Motorway portion.
According to the motorway police, measures are being taken to control the situation and allow for regular traffic.
After Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi called for a protest calling for Imran Khan’s release, section 144 was previously enforced in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The governments of Islamabad and Rawalpindi completely banned protests, rallies, sit-ins, and public gatherings when the KP chief minister issued a call for protest.
The district administrations have warned people not to attend any illegal gatherings and have said that they will take legal action against demonstrators.
