Punjab announces audacious plans to address the energy issue

The Chief Minister and the provincial administration have received fresh, significant proposals from the Energy Department.

It has been suggested that educational institutions stay closed until April 15, according to sources.

In addition to supplying fuel to a restricted number of vehicles on particular days, the use of a coupon or digital system has been suggested as a way to guarantee equitable distribution of gasoline and diesel.

Strict work-from-home policies and a total prohibition on pointless events have also been advocated for private organizations, according to sources. It has also been suggested that bus and subway services be expanded.

In order to save energy, the guidelines also call for plans to turn off LED billboards and ornamental lights, run streetlights in a different mode after 10 PM, and further limit market working hours.
