Punjab experiences thick fog, and roads are closed because of poor visibility.

Many motorway sections have been forced to close due to the dense fog that has engulfed parts of Punjab and other parts of the country.

Over the next three days, dense fog is expected to continue to linger in several areas of the country, especially in central and southern Punjab, according to an alert issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

A Motorway Police representative stated that as a precaution, a number of motorway stretches have been blocked to traffic. The M-2 motorway runs from Lahore to Kot Momin; the M-3 motorway runs from Darkhana to Faizpur; the M-4 motorway runs from Sher Shah to Pindi Bhattian; and the M-11 motorway runs from Lahore Main Toll Plaza to Sambrial. Due to inadequate visibility, traffic on the Multan–Sukkur Motorway (M-5) was also momentarily halted.

According to the NDMA, cities including Lahore, Jhang, Multan, Khanewal, Mian Channu, and Sahiwal, as well as other parts of central and southern Punjab, are predicted to be affected by thick fog. Fog is also predicted to occur in Upper Sindh, especially in Sukkur and the adjacent areas. Fog may form in Islamabad and Rawalpindi in the late evening and early morning.

In general, dry and stable weather is predicted for the majority of the nation. Daytime temperatures in Islamabad and Rawalpindi are predicted to be between 4 and 6 degrees Celsius, with sunny circumstances. While Multan might have temperatures between 6 and 8 degrees Celsius, Lahore is expected to experience temperatures between 7 and 9 degrees Celsius. However, visibility may still be impacted in certain places by morning fog.

The weather in Peshawar is predicted to be comparatively mild, with highs of 7 to 9 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in Quetta and the neighbouring areas are predicted to stay below freezing, making them exceedingly cold. The weather in Gilgit-Baltistan and other upper regions will remain dry and cold.

The weather in Karachi is predicted to stay dry and pleasant, with temperatures between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius. The weather will probably remain mild due to sea breezes.
