Punjab initiates enforcement against one-dish infractions and the use of loudspeakers.

The Punjab government has initiated a province-wide enforcement action against breaches of the One Dish policy and unlawful use of loudspeakers during weddings and social gatherings.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has mandated all commissioners and deputy commissioners to enforce strict adherence to the One Dish regulation during wedding ceremonies and other events. She stated that superfluous spending, food waste, and excessive noise must be regulated to keep order and discipline.

The Chief Minister mandated prompt action against loud music, instructing officials to implement swift legal steps against any unlawful use of loudspeakers. Officials have stated that Qawwali nights, concerts, and other private activities will be rigorously supervised, and infractions will not be permitted.

Authorities have determined that farmhouses and open spaces shall henceforth adhere to the same restrictions as wedding venues. The use of loudspeakers will be limited, and the One Dish policy will be obligatory in these places. Officials announced that explicit instructions have been established to ensure uniform implementation of the law throughout Punjab.

Furthermore, rigorous oversight of event schedules will be implemented. Wedding halls and venues must adhere to their designated closing hours. The government has determined that officials are prohibited from attending events where One Dish or loudspeaker regulations are breached.

Officials stated that the objective of these rules is to mitigate noise pollution and regulate superfluous expenditures while promoting enhanced discipline during public events. The provincial government has underscored that the effort beyond mere law enforcement, serving as a measure to enhance social responsibility and community welfare.

Officials have verified the establishment of monitoring teams, and legal measures will be implemented unconditionally to guarantee compliance throughout Punjab.
