Punjab is experiencing heavy fog, according to NDMA

Heavy fog is predicted to cover southern and central Punjab during the next three days, according to an advisory warning released by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Friday.

Local governments and traffic police have urged the people to follow their directives, and drivers have been cautioned to drive carefully and refrain from unnecessary travel during periods of heavy fog.

The NDMA predicts that there will be heavy fog in Lahore, Jhang, Multan, Khanewal, Mian Channu, Sahiwal, Okara, Pakpattan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Lodhran, and Vehari, which might cause traffic jams and poor visibility.

In portions of upper Sindh, especially around Sukkur, dense fog is also predicted for the night and early morning hours. In Islamabad, people are warned that low visibility may make traffic accidents more likely.

According to the NDMA, it is working with the appropriate departments and making sure that information about possible risks is distributed promptly. The NDMA Disaster Alert mobile application is recommended for the public to download in order to receive advance alerts on weather conditions and safety precautions.
