Punjab is under PDMA flood warning and rain alert.

Flash floods are predicted in the divisions of Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, and Bahawalpur, while majority of Punjab’s districts are expected to experience monsoon rains during the next 24 hours, according to a flood warning issued by the PDMA.

224 people were hurt, 245 dwellings were damaged, and 84 civilians lost their lives as a result of the monsoon in 2024.

Lightning, electrical shocks, crumbling mud homes, and decaying structures were the causes of the deaths.

Also, 44 animals have perished as a result of the monsoon rains. There were 145 slightly impacted homes for every 100 destroyed.

The head of the PDMA stated that the injured are provided with “best medical” facilities and that the affected families are eligible for financial assistance in accordance with government policy.

There is major flooding in Tunsa as well as low-level flooding on the Indus River in Tarbela, Kalabagh, and Chashma, according to the PDMA spokeswoman. In the rivers Sutlej, Jhelum, and Chenab Ravi, the water flow is regular.

While it is 99 percent in Tarbela, it is just 70 percent in the Mangla dam.

Not even in Dera Ghazi Khan Rudkohis does the water flow normally. There is a minor degree of flooding in Narowal Nala Basantar.

In Indian dams on the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers, the water level currently stands at 54 percent, as to the PDMA.
