Punjab suspends the computerization of manual firearms licenses.

The Punjab administration has decisively opted to cease the computerization of antiquated manual arms licenses, as stated by a representative from the Home Department.
The spokesperson announced that the procedure for confirming and digitizing manual licenses has been halted immediately. The government previously provided individuals, organizations, and security firms a final opportunity to convert their manual arms licenses into electronic formats.
The new directive has suspended the revalidation and computerization of individual, institutional, and security business firearms permits. The Home Department has released new directives and revoked all prior orders concerning this matter.
Moreover, divisional commissioners and additional secretaries (judicial) have been instructed to provide reports on all licenses computerized from March to November. Comprehensive reports have been requested from commissioners and deputy commissioners throughout Punjab concerning the de-weaponization initiative and the relinquished illegal firearms.
Officials have been instructed to provide comprehensive reports by the evening of November 13. They must also furnish data regarding all license applications and orders issued from March to November.
The computerization of manual arms licenses commenced in 2016, with the final deadline established for December 31, 2020. Licenses that had not been computerized by that time were revoked. The Home Department has issued a circular to all divisional and deputy commissioners in the province to guarantee stringent adherence.
