Quetta hosts a three-day basant festival.

In Quetta, the Basant festival was celebrated with traditional fervor on Friday, following Lahore. The festivities are scheduled to go until February 15.

The government and police have released directives asking people to observe Basant in a safe and nonviolent manner and to abstain from all aerial shooting during the celebrations.

In order to keep the celebrations free of any unfortunate situations, the public has been asked to observe the holiday in a calm manner and to take safety precautions.

Earlier, after twenty years, Basant celebrations made a comeback to Lahore, sending a wave of excitement across the city as enthusiastic Lahorites gathered in big numbers to fly kites on roofs and in the streets.
