Quetta is scheduled to have local government elections on December 28.

Preparations for local government elections are in progress in the province capital, Quetta.
The Provincial Election Commission has announced that local government elections would occur on December 28 in 641 wards across 172 union councils in Quetta. The nomination papers of 2,870 candidates submitted for the elections have been deemed legitimate.
A spokesperson for the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced that 329 candidates had retracted their nomination papers. A total of 2,541 candidates remain in contention for the local government elections in Quetta.
Likewise, no nomination papers were filed in 18 wards of Quetta. Local government elections will occur in 46 union councils and 161 wards in Zarghoon. Elections are being held in 46 union councils and 173 wards in Lyari (Lytton/Letan).
The official additionally stated that local government elections will occur in 38 union councils and 145 wards of Sariab, while elections will also be conducted in 42 union councils and 142 wards of Takatu.
