Raising the electricity tariff is contested in LHC
In the high court, the plea was made by attorney Azhar Siddique. The argument stated that they have not received a response from the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) regarding the pro-rata formula.
The applicant called the measure a “dacoity” and argued that the electricity charges on the unused units were unlawful.
It has been requested that the LHC issue an order limiting the collection of electricity charges to the units that are actually consumed, rather than using a pro rata calculation.
