Rana Sanaullah claims that Imran is the main barrier to negotiations.

– According to Rana Sanaullah, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s adviser on political affairs, Imran Khan is the true obstacle to talks.

He claimed that without consulting Nawaz Sharif or the establishment, the prime minister could not have made an offer.

Second- or third-tier PTI leaders say they want dialogue, but until the PTI founder himself has a clear position on negotiations, no number of meetings will produce any results, Rana Sanaullah remarked in an interview with a private TV channel. He continued by saying that no one has been given permission by the PTI founder to engage in negotiations, and even Aleema Khan, Khan’s sister, has stated that anyone who does so will not be regarded as one of them.

He added that the PTI founder continues to be the primary barrier to talks and that the party has called for a wheel-jam strike. He asserted that the PTI founder had barred communication and refused to engage in talks since 2011. “There is ambiguity on the other side, but we are absolutely clear about talks,” he stated.

He continued by noting that although PTI claims to have authorised some individuals to engage in negotiations, they ultimately have the final word. He questioned if the PTI founder’s most recent meeting was beneficial, saying, “Speak plainly—say you are not in favour of dialogue and want confrontation.” He challenged PTI to indicate when they are prepared to meet and questioned why they do not publicly admit that the prime minister’s offer has been received.

The adviser added that no restrictions have been placed on them and that the prime minister has even offered to meet in the Speaker’s Chamber if they choose not to approach him. “They should come if they wish to meet the prime minister. He advised them to bring up this matter immediately in the meeting if they are unable to proceed without authorisation.

According to Rana Sanaullah, the prime minister discussed discussions during the budget approval process as well, but it was also requested at that time that a meeting with the PTI founder be set up. He claimed that PTI had already declared that it could not hold talks without authorisation. “A meeting with the prime minister can be arranged if PTI visits the Speaker’s Office. The prime minister will offer his position and they will present theirs during the meeting; this is how the conversation proceeds,” he continued.

He ended by expressing his belief that the Speaker and the leader of the opposition will make a decision in the upcoming National Assembly session. A copy of the decision regarding the request has already been sent to the Speaker’s Office. “PTI should sit down and talk about anything they want after negotiating with the prime minister. He stated, “We didn’t try to minus anyone; instead, attempts were made to minus us.”
