Sheikhupura elections have been postponed, while Punjab bar elections are in progress.

Today, elections are taking place for multiple bar councils around Punjab. Voting has commenced in the majority of districts, however the Sheikhupura Bar election has been deferred.
Lahore Bar Association
Voting has commenced for the annual elections of the Lahore Bar Association and will persist until 5 PM. Twenty-seven candidates are vying for eight seats, anticipating intense battle.
Adeeb Aslam Bhinder, Shahid Jamal Butt, and Irfan Hayat Bajwa are competing for the president. A total of 15,851 registered voters will participate in the voting process.
Five contenders are vying for the vice presidential position. Three candidates are vying for the Model Town vice president position, while Zahid Mahmood Gill and Imran Olakh are contending for the Cantonment vice president role. Four people are competing for the secretary position.
Asad Abbas, Saminah Basra, and Salman Rahim Khokhar are competing for the position of joint secretary. Zohaib Khan and Yasir Nazir Padhyar are contending for the position of finance secretary, while five candidates, including Arshad Chadhar, are vying for the role of library secretary.
Sheikhupura Bar
The elections for the District Bar Sheikhupura have been deferred due to the reformation of the election board. It was deemed unfeasible to finalize the examination in a single day. The elections are now scheduled for January 17.
The electoral board has been reconstituted, prior rulings revoked, and polling rescheduled to facilitate the verification of documents and ballot paper signatures.
Gojra Bar
Voting is now under progress for the Gojra Bar Association elections. A total of 397 attorneys will participate in the voting, with an anticipated close competition between the Ittehad Group and the GDA Group.
Ijaz Akhtar Kahoja is vying for the presidency, while Mian Usman Mahmood is contending for the position of general secretary, representing the Ittehad Group. Mian Raghib Shahzad from the GDA Group is vying for the presidency, while Ayaz Afzal Basra is contending for the position of general secretary.
Gujranwala Bar Association
The electoral process has commenced in the District Bar Gujranwala elections. A total of 3,460 attorneys will submit their votes via biometric verification. Voting will persist till 5 PM.
A rigorous competition is anticipated between two contenders for the presidential position, while three people are vying for the general secretary role. Twelve individuals are vying for six additional seats.
Rawalpindi Bar Association
Voting has commenced for the District Bar Association Rawalpindi annual elections for the year 2026–27. Chaudhry Kashif Mateen (library secretary) and Muhammad Nazakat (auditor) have been elected uncontested.
There are 27 contenders competing in the race. A 20-member electoral board, led by prominent attorney Sajid Ilyas Bhatti, is overseeing the elections.
Asad Mahmood Raja, Sardar Bilal Qayyum Khan, and Tariq Mahmood Sajid Awan are contending for the presidency. A direct competition is occurring for the vice presidency between Shazia Yasmeen Hashmi Shanzy and Muhammad Imran.
Five candidates are vying for the position of secretary, whereas Ahsan Saleem Manj and Sheikh Saddam Tariq are engaged in a direct competition for the role of joint secretary. Three candidates are competing for the position of financial secretary, while the candidates for the executive council consist of Chaudhry Abdul Hafeez, Hasan Nawaz, Hanan Irfan, and Huriya Saeed Awan. Voters are required to present their authentic Punjab Bar Council card.
Multan Bar Association
In Multan, eighteen individuals are vying for seven positions. Syeda Bushra Naqvi and Chaudhry Muhammad Afzal Jatt are competing for the presidency, while Malik Saadat Hussain and Chaudhry Muhammad Afzal Shahid Sandhu are vying for the position of general secretary.
Four people are vying for the position of vice president. Two female candidates, Madam Nageena Muzaffar Hiraj and Madam Noreen Ashraf, are vying for the position of joint secretary.
Rauf Ahmed Khan Malizai and Muhammad Ali Khan Langah are vying for the position of finance secretary. Four applicants are competing for the position of library secretary. Candidates for ten executive council positions have been elected unopposed.
Bahawalnagar Bar Association
Voting is currently in progress for the annual elections of the District Bar Association Bahawalnagar. Voting commenced at 9 AM and will persist until 5 PM.
A total of 673 individuals will participate in the voting process. All offices, with the exception of the presidency, including the vice presidency, have been filled without opposition. The chairman of the election board stated that the electoral process is progressing smoothly.
