Sindh chooses to start the pink scooter scheme’s second phase.

The government of Sindh has made the decision to start the second phase of distributing pink scooters to women in the province.
Sharjeel Inam Memon, the senior Sindh minister for information and transport, presided over a meeting in Karachi on Wednesday where the decision was reached.
In order to help the people, the meeting also decided to launch four new people’s bus routes in Hyderabad, Shikarpur, and Khairpur shortly.
Memon told the media in September of last year that the program, which aims to offer safe, reasonably priced, and respectable travel options, represented a groundbreaking step towards women’s emancipation. He pointed out that women who depend on public transport for daily needs, work, or education would especially benefit from the scheme.
The minister underlined that the plan will save women time, lower travel costs, and provide a safe atmosphere for them to commute. The Sindh Mass Transit Authority is in charge of managing the applications and information of qualified women and students.
Memon went on to say that a transparent system created by the provincial administration would distribute scooters according to need and merit.
He stressed that the government’s goal is to ensure women’s independence and participation in all spheres of life, and he urged women, particularly students and working professionals, to make the most of this facility.
