Six Pakistani youths were shot dead in Iran while trying to cross the border illegally.

According to family sources, six young men from Punjab were shot dead in Iran when they were allegedly trying to enter the country illegally on their route to Iraq.
According to relatives, security personnel allegedly shot the victims as they crossed the border.
Four of the deceased were from Gujranwala, while two of them, Basit and Ayaan, were from Sahna and Malakwal.
According to family relatives, the victims ranged in age from 17 to 25.
They said that a human smuggler tricked the young men into travelling without passports by making false promises.

About a month and a half ago, the gang departed Pakistan with the intention of arriving in Iraq. According to reports, Basit and Ayaan were their parents’ only sons.

The families of the deceased have pleaded with the government to take strong action against those engaged in people smuggling and to guarantee the corpses’ prompt return.
