Syed Wajid Ali Gilani was re-elected as president of the IHC Bar by a little margin.

In the annual bar elections, Syed Wajid Ali Gilani, the candidate from the Ahsan Bhoon group, was re-elected as President of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) by a margin of nine votes.

Voting started in the morning and went on until 4:30 PM, with breaks for lunch and prayer. Because this was the first election held at the newly built IHCBA building, the place was decorated with flowers and balloons, and there were also rigorous security measures in place.

1,605 lawyers voted out of 2,633 registered members. There was a small argument between supporters of the two presidential candidates during the counting, but senior lawyers who were there were able to calm things down.

The official notice from Chief Election Board Adil Aziz Qazi says that Gilani won with 770 votes, beating his opponent Ashraf Gujjar, who had 761 votes.

With 865 votes, Farzana Faisal Khan was chosen as Additional Secretary. Her opponent, Palwasha Ayaz Khan, garnered 644 votes. Usman Nasir won the job of Joint Secretary with 939 votes, while Wajahat Ghori got 553. Rida Batool won the position of Finance Secretary with 860 votes, beating Syed Salahuddin, who had 625 votes.

People who supported the victorious candidates celebrated the results with slogans and parties. Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf Gujjar, a contender for president, disagreed with the results, and his supporters called for a recount.

Sabir Ahmed was chosen Vice President without any opposition. Barrister Qasim Nawaz Abbasi was elected Secretary, Farooq Iqbal Khan was elected Auditor, and executive members were also elected without any opposition.
