The 27th draft Barrister Aqeel discussed the amendment with the coalition parties.

Barrister Aqeel Malik, the Minister of State for Law and Justice, announced on Friday that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and other coalition partners had been given access to the working draft of the 27th Constitutional Amendment.

Speaking on the “Tonight with Samar Abbas” show on Dunya News, Barrister Aqeel Malik stated that the 27th modification draft is still in progress and that coalition partners must be consulted because a constitutional modification cannot be passed without their involvement.

According to him, the working draft has been distributed to the PPP and other affiliated parties, who are currently the main coalition partner. The proposal has been discussed with a number of political parties.

Barrister Aqeel went on to say that coalition partners are sending in ideas for the 27th Constitutional Amendment. He recalled how the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had acted similarly during the 26th Amendment, stating that it had no objections at the time.

Barrister Aqeel went on to say that PTI initially had an agreement with Maulana (Fazlur Rehman) before making speeches opposing the party. PTI participated in political point-scoring during the 26th Constitutional Amendment parliamentary session. He claimed that PTI constantly seeks to obstruct things.
