The aviation chiefs of Pakistan and Bangladesh confer regarding the prospective acquisition of JF-17 Thunder aircraft.

A senior defense delegation headed by Bangladesh’s Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan met with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force, at Air Headquarters in Islamabad.

The discussion concentrated on enhancing operational collaboration and institutional synergy, emphasizing training, capacity development, and cooperation in aeronautical innovations, as stated by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a press statement on Tuesday.

The visiting air chief received a Guard of Honour. Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu informed him of the Pakistan Air Force’s recent progress and reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to assisting the Bangladesh Air Force via an extensive training program encompassing basic to advanced flying and specialized courses at PAF institutions.

He also guaranteed expedited delivery of Super Mushshak trainer aircraft, accompanied by a comprehensive training and long-term support framework.

The Bangladeshi Air Chief commended the PAF’s combat performance and expressed a desire to leverage its operational skills, requesting aid in maintaining the Bangladesh Air Force’s aged fleet and integrating air defense radar equipment to improve air observation.

In-depth conversations were conducted regarding the prospective acquisition of JF-17 Thunder aircraft. The group toured significant PAF installations, such as the National ISR & Integrated Air Operations Centre, PAF Cyber Command, and the National Aerospace Science & Technology Park, examining competencies in ISR, cyber operations, space, electronic warfare, and unmanned systems.

The visit emphasized the robust historical connections between Pakistan and Bangladesh and demonstrated a mutual commitment to enhance defense collaboration and establish a lasting strategic alliance.
