The chief justice of the FCC promises to protect fundamental rights

Aminuddin Khan, Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court, stated on Friday that the court’s primary objective is to preserve fundamental rights and that the Constitution will be read with integrity, freedom, and transparency.

Chief Justice Khan said that the establishment of the constitutional court was a significant step toward guaranteeing openness and public access in his first statement following the court’s formation. He continued by saying that the establishment of this court represented a critical turning point in the nation’s constitutional development.

The FCC CJ stated that the court had been given a very delicate and important task, reinforcing the country’s shared dedication to the rule of law and the long-term promise of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s Constitution.

He emphasized that the court’s function was a sacred trust that directly impacted citizens’ lives, liberties, and aspirations rather than just being judicial. He declared at the start of this institutional journey that he was determined to create a court that is a model of honesty, objectivity, and wisdom.

According to Justice Khan, the Constitution’s supremacy, the values of justice, and judicial dignity shall all be upheld by treating every matter that comes before the court with exceptional care and fairness. He articulated the goal of creating a judicial tradition based on well-reasoned rulings, institutional respect, and public trust—elements that serve as the cornerstone of any constitutional court.
